Splash...

Having your own swimming pool is quite a luxury. Even the most basic rectangular shaped pool can be a beautiful addition to your yard. My favorite pool is actually the classic Hamptons look - a rectangular pool with bluestone coping surrounded by tons of grass.

When putting in a new pool there are many important things to consider. The first decision you will have to make is the location in the backyard. Ideally, you want your pool to be easily accessible to your kitchen so that you can serve your guests while they are at the pool. Unless of course you have or plan on building a pool house with a kitchen.

It is also a major decision when deciding shape and material for both the pool itself and the coping. There are many options so be sure to do your due diligence when researching.

The third, and probably most important if you have young children, or if young children will be frequent visitors at your home, is the aspect of safety. Make sure your pool is fenced in at all times!
